Best Wrestling Feuds

Decided to do a blog about best feuds ever in wrestling. Probably one or two surprises on here but the videos alone are worth a looksie. A lot of great feuds over the years in wrestling but these are the ones that stuck out to me the most.

15. Jerry Lawler vs. ECW
This one had a lot of heat and that's why it worked. Lawler really felt the things he said about ECW which made this feud even more awesome. Plus the ECW "invasion" of RAW and Lawler's "invasion" of ECW as well as Tommy Dreamer's attack on USWA made this a tri-fed feud of awesome proportions.

14. Roddy Piper vs. Hulk Hogan
Another feud that had a lot of heat. This feud led to WrestleMania I which was instigated by Piper antagonizing Hogan leading into Mania. Also set up the Mr. T/Piper and Piper and Orton/Orndorff and Hogan feuds as well. This would've been ranked higher if it weren't for their WCW feud that was rather horrid as well as the "Mr. America" storyline.

13. Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker
The top ranked feud on the list from the last five years. Nothing else in recent times, save for the Nexus stuff, even warrants being mentionned, compares to these two and the matches that they had. Their feud in late 1997-early 1998 was also very good too which played a factor in this. Their final two matches were two of the best matches of all time which is why this feud made the list.

12. Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan
The feud that set up the biggest WrestleMania of all time, WrestleMania III. Andre the Giant was suspended from the WWF by Bobby Heenan and then he came back in January of 1987. Andre and Hogan got some trophies on Piper's Pit. Andre shows up with Heenan and challenges Hogan. It led to the bodyslam heard round the world as well as the twin referees angle.

11. Sting vs. Hulk Hogan and the nWo
Sting leaves after no one believes him that he isn't in the nWo and doesn't wrestle for a year but instead takes on the nWo all by himself before finally beating Hogan for the WCW World Title at Starrcade 1997.

10. Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven
A feud that started at Summer Camp when they were 12 led to the demented sociopathic cult leader outcast known as Raven coming to ECW to get revenge on the popular jock friend of his known as Tommy Dreamer. Tommy Dreamer didn't beat him for three years and it just instigated the feud as well as all of Raven's cronies getting involved. Beulah McGillicutty, the fat girl from camp who was rejected by Dreamer, also was a major part of this feud. Good stuff.

9. Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart
These two hated each other both on camera and in real life. That was what made this feud even more awesome. Plus the matches were great as well as the on-camera heat when they were giving promos about each other.

8. Undertaker vs. Mankind
Another good feud with Taker, this time against the demented Mankind. These two played off of each other very well and had some of the most out of control matches of all time including the famous Hell in a Cell match as well as the first Boiler Room Brawl.

7. Ric Flair vs. Sting
The feud that would never die. These guys fought for years and years. Nothing would stop these two from fighting until the nWo showed up and changed everything.

6. Jerry Lawler vs. Andy Kaufman
I'm sure this one will get some heat for being up so high but the impact it had both culturally and on the business is the reason for it. This had major heat and the Letterman stunt was one of the greatest moments in wrestling history.

5. Jake Roberts vs. Randy Savage
The famous "cobra angle" came out of this feud. Macho Man got bit on the arm by a cobra and Jake slapped Elizabeth. Yeah, this feud was awesome.

4. Steve Austin vs. The Rock
One of the best feuds of all time. These guys could talk and have excellent matches on a regular basis. These were the two biggest stars of the late '90's-early 2000's for a reason.

3. nWo vs. WCW
This was one of the wildest feuds of all time. The Outsiders arrive then Hogan turns heel and the rest is history. It was an invasion complete with gang style attacks, taggings, and all out brawls.

2. Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart
This was one of the most awesome feuds in wrestling history. TONS of heat, great matches, and both men were faces and heels during its run.

1. Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon
The end all be all of wrestling feuds. WWF/E boss Vince McMahon goes against his most troublesome employee Steve Austin. Best feud of all time.

Honorable Mentions: Randy Savage vs. Honky Tonk Man, Nation of Domination vs. Degeneration-X, Edge/Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz, Nation of Domination vs. Ahmed Johnson, Chris Benoit vs. Kevin Sullivan, Heenan Family vs. Hulk Hogan, Rockers vs. Brainbusters, Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts, Jake Roberts vs. Ted DiBiase, Undertaker vs. Kane

  1. I'd throw Pillman v WCW, Lawler v Hart, Hart v Hart in there somewhere too, but that's just me. Plus, even though it wasn't a particularly long feud, Savage v Steamboat.

  2. Pillman vs. Douglas was another one. Hart vs. Hart was pretty good too as was Steamboat/Savage.
