Faster Review/Running Commentary:
Here iis a running commentary of the movie Faster starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton. Since he is feuding with John Cena I will be reviewing 12 Rounds tomorrow.
Running Commentary -
Starts off with Rock in jail and all it says is Driver.
Rock now out of jail and running through the streets after he gets out.
Rock finds his old car and speeds off in it going 70 down the highway.
He stops the car and walks in front of traffic before storming into a building. What the hell is going on? lol He then goes inside of a building and shoots a guy in the head for some unknown reason and doesn't say a word. I think I'm going to like this movie.
Thornton is the detective in charge of the investigation.
Rock shows up in some guy's office and gives him his money. Rock wants a list of names and is paying him for doing it.
The guy tries to renegotiate with Rock but his Samoan goon runs away when he sees its him.
Now there's a Killer character. It's like the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly except it's Driver, Cop, and Killer.
The Killer has now been hired to kill Rock.
Cool backstary scene about Rock's character.
Both Rock and Killer are watching the same apartment with the guy. Now he's ready to go for Rock as he's going to kill the old man they are watching.
It's revealed that Rock and his buddy was captured and most of them were killed. They cut the other guy's throat.
The old man drugged the college aged girl who helped him's drink and now Rock is going to his apartment.
Rock just shot the guy in the hand and now in the head! WOW!
Cool shootout scene between Rock and Killer.
Rock was dead but survived being shot by the guys who shot the video and now he's out to kill them all.
Killer tells his girlfriend that he's impressed by Rock and thinks this is his biggest challenge.
Rock's next victim is a mom now. This should be good.
Turns out it was his ex-girlfriend and he only wanted to see if his kid was there. Turns out she got an abortion. Now she tells him to go kill them all.
Killer wants to marry his girlfriend and she realizes that he's serious.
Thornton wants back with his wife and promises to get off drugs after the case he's on is done. Good movie so far.
Cool bathroom fight scene between Rock and the guy who sliced his friend's throat in the video.
Thornton's wife uses drugs because she's scared and having a relapse.
Now Cop, Killer, and Driver are all out and about.
His bathroom victim survived and now Rock/Driver is back in Vegas to kill him.
Rock kills the guy on the operating table. Cop is now chasing down Rock/Driver.
Rock has a chance to kill Cop but doesn't do it and leaves. In his car he gets a call from the man who he just killed's son and the son says he is going to kill him. Rock tells him it's a long, dark road he's going to go down and he's better be sure about it.
Rock and Killer have an awesome hightway shootout and chase scene. Killer shoots Rock in the neck in the middle of it.
Good, the Bad, and the Ugly music playing now. Awesome.
Rock goes to kill his father but finds out from his mother that his dad didn't set them up.
Rock has been listening to Jesus gospel radio sermons this entire movie, lol.
Rock shows up at the sermon that the preacher is delivering, lol.
WHOA! The preacher is his next victim. Excellent swerve there especially when the preacher recognizes him.
Turns out he's Rock former bank robbery partner. He was the look out the day of what happened. The preacher says he's remorseful for what he did and that's why he turned to a life of God after he went to prison. The preacher says he wants to help people and boys like they were. The Rock says "Sermon's over." Preacher starts singing a gospel hymn.
Rock almost kills him but decides against it and misfires on purpose before leaving.
After going back to the preacher's tent to pray Killer confronts Rock and points a gun at his head. Cop finds their cars and is going in. This is getting good.
Rock doesn't want to fight Killer because he has no beef with him.
Killer has a gun to Rock's head and tells him that there is one more person left and that person is the one who hired him. Cop shows up and tells Killer to drop the gun. Thornton tells him to drop the gun and Killer does so. Thornton goes over and SHOOTS ROCK IN THE HEAD! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! THORNTON WAS BEHIND IT THE WHOLE TIME! THIS IS GREAT! I LOVE THIS HEEL TURN!
Rock's brother's girlfriend at the time is now Thornton's wife! THIS IS A GREAT STORY!
A lot of swerves in this movie. Good stuff.
Thornton calls his wife and says it's over. Says he's going to start brand new and at that exact same moment Rock shoots him in the head. THIS MOVIE RULES!
Thornton: I created my own hell.
Rock: And I'm the demon who crawled out of it.
I LOVE THIS SCENE!
Movie ends with Rock driving down the highway and into the sunset. Excellent movie.
Overall -
4 1/2 out of 5 stars overall. This movie was WAY better than I was expecting. Dwayne Johnson did a great job despite limited speaking moments in the movie and Thornton was good as usual. Carla Gugino did a good job as the other officer too. Also like the Preacher and Killer characters.
I loved this movie. I cannot understand a major flaw though, Billy Bob Thornton KNEW the Rock had a metal plate in the back of his head cause he shot him the first time and the Rock survived it...so then at the end to finish it all he shoots him AGAIN in the back of the head? In reality he would've shot him right between the eyes to make sure he was dead, then unload the rest of the clip throughout his chest just to make sure.
ReplyDeleteYeah that was the same thing I was thinking. If he was smart he would've shot him in the chest. The only thing about this movie that didn't make sense was that. I completely agree 100%.
