Japan Tsunami and Earthquake Update:
Last night the tsunami coverage last night on here made it the most views ever in one day for this blog so I figure I might as well do some updates now that I'm up and awake. Here are the latest updates. Japan has specifically asked for US assistance and other countries are offering assistance. The tsunami waves are now hitting Maui and the US Pacific Coastline. However they are headed more to the south toward Central and South America. The largest waves hitting Maui are 7 feet tall and were intermitten with smaller waves that were below the warning level. The US did escape major damage because of this disaster. Oil prices are going down because of what happened in Japan. Japan is the world's third largest oil importer so that is why. The oil refinery in Chiba is still burning now. However the nuclear power plant is still having issues with cooling down. If there's a meltdown then this disaster could reach a whole new level. As it relates to this the US Air Force is flying nuclear reactor coolant to Japan right now according to CNN to help prevent this from happening. Also check out that whirpool photo I posted at the top of this blog. Unreal. Looks similar to the ending of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
If you are missing loved ones use Google People Finder to help find them. This technology was used during the earthquakes in Haiti and New Zealand. Just put their name in and other users can send in any information. If you need to use this. Report of a dam breaking in Northeastern Japan and 1,800 homes being washed away. Also 300 bodies reportidely found in Sendai. The unreal video of this is all collected in the Yahoo link at the bottom of this blog. I suggest a look to see just how devastating this was. A report about little damage to Hawaii and US Pacific Coast. Santa Cruz is the only place other than Hawaii where I've seen video of it. That's a good thing. However the fact that there's aftershocks mean that we're not all in the clear yet. Someone on my Facebook said that now people are talking about this being the end of the world. I say this: This is only the beginning.
