Japanese Emperor Akihito Speaks

Japanese Emperor Akihito Speaks:
Tonight there was a RARE appearance by Japanese Emperor Akihito. He only speaks in times of war or great crisis. This is definitely a great crisis if there ever was one. He made it clear in his speech that this was Japan's worst crisis since World War II. He also said that he wants people to work together and treat each other with compassion during this time of crisis. Akihito also said that he hopes that all the victims of the earthquake and tsunami can be saved. He spoke after workers at the Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant had to abandon the plant due to increased radiation. Found some information on Akihito on Wikipedia. He is the son of the famous Emperor Hirohito who ruled Japan during World War II. Interesting fact about him. He is a published Ichthyologist and specializes in the taxonomy of the family Gobiidae. His father was also interested in marine biology much like he is. He also has written about science history during the Edo and Meiji Eras. Fascinating guy from the sound of it.
