WWE Judgment Day 2009 Review

This is the Heel Heat review of WWE Judgment Day 2009.

-CM Punk vs. Umaga:

Punk is in this so automatically it will be good. Umaga has different entrance music. Kicks by Punk. One arm sambo suplex by Umaga. Umaga in control. Nerve hold by Umaga. Punk posted. Big Knee by Umaga. Big Boot sends Punk off the apron and down to the floor and into the barricade. Umaga drops onto Punk's chest. Punk tries to slam Umaga but Umaga falls on him. Umaga dominating. Uppercut by Umaga. Umaga misses a top rope headbutt. Umaga knocked to the floor. Plancha by Punk. Kicks and jumping heel kick by Punk. Corner knee by Punk. Corner avalanche by Umaga. Top rope bulldog by Punk. Top rope clothesline by Punk. Samoan Drop by Umaga. Three kicks to the head by Punk, Crescent kick, corner hip running smash, and Samoan Spike by Umaga wins it.

-Vickie Guerrero backstage. Chavo comes in and says Cena is cleared to wrestle. Big Show is backstage and tells Vickie she's going to lose Cena to injury. Edge walks in and Chavo leaves.

-ECW Championship, Christian vs. Jack Swagger:

Fast paced back and forth start. Chain mat wrestling. Swagger knocked to the floor. Leaping dropkick by Christian. Springboard plancha by Christian. Christian posted. Swagger in control. Body slam by Swagger. Christian misses a top rope splash. Top rope belly to belly suplex by Swagger. Tornado reverse DDT by Christian. Back suplex by Swagger. Roll up by Christian wins it.

-Chavo listening in on Edge's locker room. Edge and Chavo arguing over Chavo being an embarassment.

-John Morrison vs. Shelton Benjamin:

Exploder suplex by Benjamin. Benjamin in control. Springboard somersault plancha by Morrison. Morrison knocked to the floor. Benjamin in control. Sleeper Hold by Benjamin. Both men clonk heads. Comeback by Morrison. Headscissors into a Russian Legsweep by Morrison. Inverted backbreaker by Benjamin. Knee to the head by Morrison. Springboard hurricanrana countered with a corner powerbomb by Benjamin. Starship Pain wins it for Morrison.

-The Miz out. Talks about Morrison, says he's 3-0 against Cena, and makes fun of Alfonso Soriano for playing for the Cubs. Puts himself over until Santino's music plays. Santino says Soriano is Italian and suggests they eat Italian food after the show. Santino making jokes and now Miz is making even worse jokes. Cheap shot by Miz and now they are fighting. Low DDT by Miz. This was pretty horrible. Chavo in now and yelling at Santino. Frog Splash by Chavo.

-Chris Jericho backstage. Says there's a conspiracy against him, says he's the most talented wrestler of his generation, says there will be no 619, and guarantees he will be the new Intercontinental Champion tonight.

-Intercontinental Championship, Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho:

Jericho out to the floor early to regroup. Jericho beating up on Rey. Fast paced action. Kick through the rope and Seated senton off the apron by Rey. Rey whipped into the barricade. Springboard legdrop by Rey. Rey dropkicked off the apron to the floor. 619 countered by Jericho. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker by Jericho. Slingshot using the middle rope by Jericho. Jericho in control. Seated senton by Rey. Springboard crossbody by Rey. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker by Jericho. fast paced action. 619 countered into the Walls of Jericho by Jericho. Powerbomb by Jericho. 619 and Springboard splash by Rey wins it.

-WWE Championship, Randy Orton vs. Batista:

Very good pre-match hype video. Shoulderblock and Suplex by Batista. Batista overpowering Orton at the start. Standing dropkick by Orton sends Batista to the floor. Back Suplex onto the barricade by Orton. Knee drops by Orton. Orton in control. Modified backbreaker by Orton. Garvin Stomp by Orton. Back Suplex by Batista. Standing dropkick by Orton. Rope hung DDT by Orton. Spear by Batista. Powerslam by Batista. Orton slithers to the floor and tells the ref to count him out. Batista stalks Orton and Orton grabs onto the ringpost but gets put in the ring anyway. Batista on fire. Top rope clothesline by Orton. Orton gets a chair. Top rope flying shoulder tackle by Batista. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb but Orton slithers out and grabs his belt while trying to leave but Batista stops him. Spinebuster by Batista. Batista posted. Orton pushed into the ref and slaps the ref to get DQ'd. Batista can't believe it. Legacy ambushes Batista. Ric Flair out and he fights off Orton and Legacy. Batista and Flair fight them off.

-John Cena vs. Big Show:

Really liked the visual of Show slamming Cena through a big stage light. Show overpowering Cena. Show dominating. Side Slam by Show. Cena thrown to the floor. Front slam into the post by Show. Show dodges Cena's bulldog attempt. Bear Hug by Show. Show dominating this. Comeback by Cena. Five Knuckle Shuffle by Cena. Top rope legdrop by Cena. Attitude Adjustment by Cena wins it.

-World Heavyweight Championship, Edge vs. Jeff Hardy:

Good pre-match video to set this up. Fast paced chain wrestling at the start. Somersault Senton by Jeff. Jeff misses the Whisper in the Wind. Jeff whipped into the post on the apron and then Speared to the floor by Edge. Edge in control. Edgeomatic by Edge. Crossbody by Jeff. Jawbreaker by Jeff. Front suplex by Jeff. Jeff misses the top rope crossbody. Jeff on fire. Top rope crossbody by Jeff. Jeff misses a dropkick. Sharpshooter by Jeff. Twist of Fate by Jeff. Top rope sunset flip by Jeff. Mule Kick by Jeff sends Edge to the floor. Jeff starts taking apart an announce table. He rams Edge onto the table. Jeff goes for a running barricade move but Edge Spears him. Twist of Fate using the ropes and springboard legdrop by Jeff. Leaping Poetry in Motion off the steps into Edge on the floor sends both men into the first row. Jeff climbs over the barricade and gets nailed from behind by the cast of Matt Hardy. Edge misses a Spear. Top rope Edgecution wins it for Edge.

-Overall I didn't like this event at all. However I did like Jericho/Rey. Shelton/Morrison, Edge/Jeff, and Punk/Umaga weren't bad but there was just something missing from this show other than the Rey/Jericho match. Cena/Show was horrible. One of the worst matches ever.
