WWE Over the Limit 2010 Review

In this edition of Heel Heat I'm reviewing WWE Over the Limit 2010.

-Intercontinental Championship, Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston:

Kofi on fire at the start. Suicide Dive by Kofi. Kofi pushed into the ringpost. Drew in control. Comeback by Kofi. Flying crossbody by Kofi. SOS by Kofi wins the title. That was quick. Drew has the mic. He is calling for Teddy Long. Says the event will stop until Long comes out and reverses the decision. Matt Hardy comes out instead. Twist of Fate by Matt.

-CM Punk backstage with the SES. This is like a cult, lol. Punk is awesome. This was really good.

-R-Truth vs. Ted DiBiase, Jr.:

VIRGIL! Forgot about him being a part of this angle. Chain wrestling at the start. Slap by Ted. Ted clotheslined out to the floor. Virgil distracts Truth but it doesn't work. Neckbreaker by Ted. Faceplant by Ted. Ted in control. Comeback by Truth. Flatliner by Ted. Electric Chair Drop by Ted. Stunner by Truth. Spinning forearm by Truth wins it. This wasn't that bad.

-Teddy Long on the phone talking. Drew McIntyre storms in and demands he changes the results. Wants him to fire Matt Hardy too and Long refuses. Drew starts tearing up his office. Drew almost destroys a picture of MLK but decides against it because he's more like MLK than Long is.

-If Punk loses his head is shaved but if Rey loses he joins the Straight Edge Society, CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio:

Really good storyline video before the match. Both men trading the advantage. Rey backdropped to the floor. Headscissors by Rey sends Punk into the barricade. Rey thrown into the barber chair from the ring. Doctor in to stop the bleeding on Punk's head. Match is stopped. BOO! Rey thrown into the barricade twice and a suplex on the floor by Punk. Punk in control. Double arm backbreaker by Punk. Both men trade the advantage. Bulldog from the top by Punk. Series of kicks by Punk. 619 by Rey but he misses the springboard splash. Punk smiles as he sits up and Rey rolls him over into a cradle for the win. The mystery man from SES attacks Rey and the rest of the SES is out now. Kane makes the save. Punk is handcuffed to the middle rope by one hand. 619 by Rey and Rey handcuffs Punk's other hand to the middle rope. Rey cuts Punk's hair. Rey shows Punk what he looks like with a mirror and Punk is irate. This was REALLY good. One of the best Punk/Rey matches ever.

-Big Show backstage with Chris Jericho. Jericho says he thanks him for making him and Miz to come together and Show was the dead weight on their teams. Says they will be the new tag team champions. Show and Jericho trade insults. Show says that he's going to knock Miz, who is hiding behind him, out and then knock Jericho out and then revive them to do it again. Miz and Jericho leave.

-WWE Unified Tag Team Championship Match, Hart Dynasty vs. Chris Jericho and The Miz:

Series of kicks by Kidd. Stalling vertical suplex by Smith. Dynasty in control. Series of kicks by Kidd. Missile Dropkick by Jericho. Side slam by Smith. Miz and Jericho in control. electric chair drop by Smith. Spinning elbow and two dropkicks by Kidd. Kidd on fire. Walls of Jericho by Jericho. Codebreaker by Jericho. Powerslam by Smith. Natalya trips Jericho. Running powerslam by Smith. Backbreaker/Neckbreaker combo by Miz. Miz and Jericho rammed into each other. Corner clothesline by Miz countered into the Hart Attack wins it for the Dynasty. Excellent wrestling in this match.

-Edge vs. Randy Orton:

Watching the pre-match video of this made me remember why I hated this feud last year. Shoulderblock by Orton. Clothesline and Garvin Stomp by Orton. Slingshot bottom rope clothesline by Orton. Orton in control. Orton pulled into the barricade. Edge suplexes Orton onto the barricade chest first. Edge in control. Superplex by Orton. Both men trading punches. Powerslam by Orton. Big boot by Edge. Rope Hung DDT by Orton. Top rope clothesline by Edge. Kick counter to the Spear. Orton 's right arm appears to be hurt. Both men out to the floor. Orton appears to be legit injured. Edge accidentally Spears the barricade. Both men are counted out. Doctor out to check on Orton. Orton helped to the back by the doctor as referees out to keep Edge from attacking him. This was one of the weirdest and I do mean WEIRDEST matches that I have ever seen.

-World Heavyweight Championship, Jack Swagger vs. Big Show:

Liked the pre-match video for this. Swagger trying to use mat wrestling against Show but it's not working. Big Boot by Show. Show in control. Swagger clips Show's knee. Corner splash by Swagger. Front suplex by Show. Avalanche by Show. Show on the warpath. Swagger grabs the title belt and nails Show with it to get DQ'd on purpose. He nails Show with it after the match. Swagger uses a chair on Show. Show keeps getting up though. Chokeslam by Show. Show uses the chair against Swagger. Chokeslam on the chair by Show. KO Punch by Show. Short match but the aftermatch was fun.

-Batista backstage. Says he made Cena screaming like a little girl last week and he's going to do it again so the whole world hears it.

-WWE Divas Championship match, Eve Torres vs. Maryse:

Eve posted shoulderfirst. Maryse in control. Camel Clutch by Maryse. Maryse accidentally kicks the ringpost. Comeback by Eve. Standing moonsault by Eve. Faceplant by Eve. Both women trade the advantage. Eve does a strange looking kneescissors faceslam into a pin for the win. Short but better than most divas matches.

-I Quit Match for the WWE Championship, John Cena vs. Batista:

Liked the pre-match video for this. Shockingly I'm actually looking forward to this match. Batista has a mic. Says he is giving him one chance to say I Quit before he puts his ass in a world of pain. Cena has the mic and says I don't think so before sucker punching Batista. Cena gets a chair but misses and hits the post. Batista in control. Cena rammed into the barricade. Suplex by Batista. Comeback by Cena. Back Suplex and Five Knuckle Shuffle by Cena. Spear by Batista. STF by Cena. Batista passes out. Cena grabs a bottle of water and pours it on him to revive him. Spinebuster by Batista. Batista Bomb by Batista. Batista tearing up the announce tables. Powerslam from one announce table to another by Batista. Doctor out since Cena is busted open. BOO! Fight goes into the crowd. Batista knocked off the second level onto security. Fight goes through the crowd into the staging area. Batista uses a chair as a weapon. Brutal chair attack by Batista. Batista gets into a car that's on the stage set and turns it on. He tries to back it into Cena but Cena isn't there. Cena on the rampage. He rams Batista's head into the car. Attitude Adjustment onto the car by Cena. They climb on top of the car. Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustement off the car but Batista quits. Cena still does it after the bell sounds and Batista goes right through the stage! AWESOME! Sheamus attacks Cena at the end of the show.

-Overall I actually liked this event was is a shocker. Mainly because there wasn't too much sports entertainment. It was almost totally wrestling and none of the matches were too horrible except maybe Edge/Orton. Going to recommend this one. The end match was one of the better Cena and Batista matches out there too.
