This is my review of the movie The Lawnmower Man starring Pierce Brosnan and Jeff Fahey. Let the running commentary of doom begin.
Running commentary -
Starts off with two scientists talking about a virtual reality program they are using on a chimpanzee. This is followed by an old school 3D computer generated battle sequence.That night the money gets loose and takes the virtual reality helmet. The monkey kills a guard and steals his gun and card key. Turns out it was only a nightmare the programmer was having.Turns out all of it was real and he gets a call about it. Brosnan (the programmer) says he warned them about the aggression before being told to take a break.The boss guy wants him back because without him there is no project 5.As usual the main character is dating some hot babe.The Lawnmower Man is like a simpleton character.The neighbor is a child abuser and a drunk.There's a lot of abusing characters in this movie.Now the programmer guy suckers Job into being his test subject. What a manipulative jerkwad. This guy deserves what's coming to him.Now he's manipulating him by saying he's going to make him smart. This has disaster written all over it.There's a babe living next door and Job is watching her. That's not good for later on.The virtual reality scenes in this movie are reallt antiquated.Job is now more muscular, better looking, and now the babe is interested in him.The top secret laboratory in this movie is awesome looking.The young woman seduces Job and they have sex.WHOA! He's having side effects where he's going in and out of reality and virtual reality. He can hear people's thoughts too. Awesome.Now he's taken his girlfriend to the virtual reality laboratory.Job's woman wants out but he wont let her out. Now he's a virtual reality creature and is scaring her.Job now wants to find out what the doctor did to him.Job wants to evolve but Dr. Angelo says its too risky and now Job is trying to get inside of his head.Job sneaks into the lab and starts injecting himself with the intelligence formula.Now Dr. Angelo is beating up his boss. This is crazy.Job is now talking in a robotic type voice and the preacher thinks the devil has taken over him. HOLY CRAP! HE JUST USED HIS MIND POWERS TO MAKE THE PRIEST CATCH ON FIRE AND BE BURNED ALIVE!The Lawnmower Man now uses his powers to move objects and to put the lawnmower man inside of the town bully's head like a virus. Unbelievable.The abuser dad turns on the television and it's WWF with Tito Santana vs. some jobber guy lol.Now the Lawnmower Man shows up at the boy's house and puts him and his mother to sleep before killing the abusive dad character with a possessed lawnmower.The police chief thinks it was a satan cult behind all of this, lol.Dr. Angelo finds Job and he's in the fourth dimension. Says he's going to be conduit and project himself into the mainframe computer. Says he will make every phone on the planet ring when he goes inside. Job then uses his powers to detain Dr. Angelo.WHOA! HE JUST PROJECTED A GIANT HEAD AND VAPORIZED TWO AGENTS BY MAKING THEM TURN INTO PIECES BEFORE DISAPPEARING! AWESOME!Job tells him his plan to take over the whole computer network and that they will be plugged into him.Job uses his powers to put everyone in a virtual dimension trap or something. Now he's hooked up to the virtual reality mainframe as Dr. Angelo shows up to stop him armed with a gun and explosives.Whoa...he looks awesome in his virtual reality form. Dr. Angelo gets inside of the virtual reality realm and confronts Job. Angelo says this power shouldn't be under the control of one person. He says he's not even human even more.Virtual reality Dr. Angelo looks like Silver Surfer mixed with T-1000 in this scene.The Lawnmower Man has lost all of his physical powers after transferring into the virtual dimension. Now Job frees Angelo to save Peter and tells him to hurry.Dr. Angelo and Peter escape just before the laboratory explodes. The Lawnmower Man escapes into another computer system just before the explosion too.Dr. Angelo takes his research underground to make up for what he did and is living with Peter and his mom. They are about to leave when every phone on Earth rings to signal that Job is still alive.
Review:
Overall going to give this a 3 out of 5 stars. The story was great but the graphics were antiquity compared to what they are now. However the characters weren't bad and the Lawnmower Man character was great. Not bad but still looks very dated compared to how it is now.
